“As soon as I saw you, I knew an adventure was going to happen” -Winnie the Pooh
I will always say that I am from California. My heart belongs to hot summers, the crash of the ocean waves and the luxury of never having to shovel snow!
My name really does have an é in it: Jenée. Making the pronunciation "juh-NAY." Correspondingly, I've never had a mug or pen with my name on it.
Yep, that hair is all natural curl. Is is not uncommon to have multiple conversations in a day recommending hair products to strangers.
I love See's Candy milk bordeaux. The local See's store was a regular stop with my Mom for holiday gifts when I was little. Remembering how I could barely see over the counter to pick my favorites, the black and white checkered floor and the free sample are my favorite childhood memories.
Diet Coke (with extra ice!) is my drink. My favorite days were with my Grandma, her drinking her chilled Diet Coke in a bottle while watching Wheel of Fortune. Still one of my favorite TV shows to watch with my own children!
I have 3 children of my own. The oldest is a culinary genius, the second is obsessed with wanting to live like the Alaskan bush people and the youngest is tenderhearted and compassionate.
I'm married to my college sweetheart. We met my first day of college, two weeks after I graduated high school and we married a year later. His master's degree program brought us from the west coast to MA 10 years ago where we've now made a life, bought a home and have been raising our children in Attleboro.
I have an undergrad degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Idaho State University. Which I absolutely loved working with children in the elementary schools! But when it came time to continue with my education my desire to be an Entrepreneur and my Artist side won! I attended the photography program at the Center for Digital Imaging Arts through Boston University 2011-2013.
Recently, my husband and I stood in a blizzard for 4 hours in a contest to win free chicken sandwiches for a year. Because, why not!? We danced, ate chicken and laughed our hearts out.
I am located in Attleboro, MA and have a 200 sq foot dedicated space in my home for studio sessions and gallery reveal experiences. I am available for travel to the surrounding areas for on-location sessions. I take weddings within the southeastern MA region; from Boston, MA to Newport, RI. I do not book Sunday weddings or Portrait Sessions due to family commitments.
I am classically trained through the Center for Digital Imaging Arts at Boston University. I also attend multiple professional workshops throughout the year and am a member of PPA (Professional Photographers of America). Jenée Cook Photography is a licensed and insured business.
My wedding photography style is a mix of photojournalistic, documenting the day as-it-happens to formal; capturing those posed family heirloom portraits.
My stylized Newborn session themes can be customized with the colors and motif of your sweet baby's nursery. I was the first Newborn Photographer in Massachusetts to be certified through the AANPS (American Association of Newborn Photography Safety).
It is my goal to not just provide you with photos, but with an experience that starts a journey and relationship that lasts for a lifetime. From nuptials to newborns. To be there to give you the tissues when we view your images of your father walking you down the aisle. To laugh and glow with you when you return for your maternity session. Where I'm trusted to be your first venture out of your home after bringing your new sweet baby into the world. My job as your family's "for life" Photographer is to be included in your most cherished memories.
Each wedding or session brings out my "why" in life. I live to bring a happiness to others, to prove printed on paper how beautiful you are, to reaffirm over and over that you are loved. You experience that love as he gasps when he sees you for the first time at the ceremony, when tears fall during your vows or when as a new mama you snuggle that baby in close. I get to be there, for all of that. I get to show you that. To create an heirloom album that your children's children get to hold and see the way you lived. I couldn't ask for a more perfect "why" in life!
