Engagement Sessions, Maternity, Newborns, Cake-Smashes, High-School Seniors and Families
Do you have a studio?
Yes….and no. I have a dedicated 200 sq. ft. space in my home available for limited sessions, consultations and gallery reveal sessions. I am able to fit small groups in the space for an indoor studio session. For this reason I ask only those being photographed to attend.
For Newborn sessions, we will take the sibling/family portraits first so your significant other can leave with the sibling so sessions can go smoothly and keep your sweet newborn asleep. I have a comfy couch and encourage you to bring a pillow along to relax while I do your session. Feel free to bring something to eat as well.
For Cake-Smash sessions I will ask you to hang out in the next room for a bit. Your child will be beyond adorable but I find they are very easily distracted if there are multiple people in the room and they will look at them instead of the camera or the cake.
Do you have a business license and are you insured?
Yes and Yes!!
Are you available for on-location portrait sessions?
Yes! I have a couple favorite parks local to Attleboro that I love to work at. I am open to locations within a 30 minute drive. All state parks and several other locations require a permit. I’m able to shoot there but the cost of the permit would be added to your session fee. We would also need at least two weeks to process the permit. I do not shoot on train tracks and on private property locations only if given permission.
What is included and what is not in a portrait session?
For me to turn down other clients and to reserve your date I require a creative fee. This insures you are invested and I feel comfortable turning down others for your date. The creative fee does not include any digital images or products.
If you have any more questions about who is able to be included in each session as well as the amount of the Creative fee, please see the Investment tab.
How much am I going to spend at my portrait session?
I am a "Portrait" Photographer so my goal is to create portraits for you: printed art products that you will hang on your walls or display in beautiful heirloom albums. I'm here to help you with the "now what?" after you get your photos taken. I don't believe that your images should be lost or forgotten about on a hard drive or in The Cloud! I'm here to guide you in which print products you would like to see in your home, the ones you can't wait to share with loved ones! Because of this business model, each session will be unique in how much each client spends. We will go over all pricing during our phone consultation so you will know how much to expect to spend as well as to start to visualize which printed products will be right for you.
How long will my portrait session be?
For Newborn Sessions we work on “baby time” but on average expect in the 3-4 hour range.
For all other sessions (Cake-smash, Maternity, High-School Senior, Families and Engagements) expect about an hour and a half.
What is the best time of day for my portrait session?
For the best possible light for on-location sessions we will meet at least two hours before sunset. We will avoid mid-day light due to harsh shadows.
For Newborn sessions we will schedule in the morning about 9:30 am on a weekday.
For Cake-smash sessions we will schedule between 9:30 am- 12:00 pm on a weekday.
Please note, I am closed Sundays due to family commitments.
What should we wear to our portrait session?
First, let me answer that by saying what NOT to wear. Avoid: loud patterns and colors as well as anything with large logo's on them. Look for solid colored tops. Do not all wear the same thing, mix it up within a complimentary color palette. Soft colors look great on women and girls. Nice slacks or clean jeans look great on men and boys paired with a collard shirt.
Do the bend-over and reach-up test in front of a mirror: does anything fall out when you bend over? Anything hang out the bottom when reaching up? Are bra straps visible? Choose undergarments that flatter the material of the outfit and not cause lines or bulges.
You will more than likely be able to see shoes, so take that into consideration. Nails and hands will also be visible so clean hands/fingernails and nicely polished nails with a light soft color will photograph nicely.
You will be able to see phones and key's in pockets so I will ask you to empty those. A secret about me: I dislike photoshop. I try to do what I can in-person to get you looking camera ready as much as possible!
What is your Pet Policy?
I am an animal lover! If you would like to bring a well-trained pet to your session they are welcome and they count as an additional "child/person" for your session fee. You must have a handler that is not being photographed to take the pet for photos where he/she isn't included. I cannot guarantee I will be able to get your pet to look at the camera or cooperate but I will try my hardest!
What is a Gallery Reveal Session? (Portrait Sessions)
Approximately one week after your session, we will meet in my home studio space to view your soft-proofed online gallery. I will have one fully edited image so you will see what your images will look like. From there, you will choose which images you would like to create wall-art or include in your album and those will be fully edited.
What else happens after my portrait session?
Together we will chose the specifications of your albums, wall-art or prints during your gallery reveal session. After that, I will create a mock-up of your album and email it to you for approval. You can make one change at no cost. Additional changes are $25 each request. If you purchase digital files, I will create an online gallery of your chosen full-resolution digital files. I ask when sharing online to credit Jenee Cook Photography. You are encouraged to download your files to several different sources for safe keeping. Your gallery will remain live for 1 month after your session and to order additional prints.
Can I have the RAW files?
Long answer short, no. My job is to provide you with the full experience. From start to finish you are hiring me for my creativity and artistic eye. I do not distribute RAW files for this and other reasons that include the logistics of being able to transfer such massive file sizes.
You took more photos than I'm seeing at my reveal. What happened to those?
I do take multiple shots of the same poses, set-ups and scenes. From there I pick the absolute best images and only present to you the ones that are the most flattering. Any out-of-focus or unflattering images aren't presented.
I can’t wait to book a session, what happens now!?
Fill out the contact form, call or email me and we will set up a phone consultation. You will receive a questionnaire by email after I respond to your contact form. I will answer all your questions about your session during our chat. If you are then ready to book we will set a date and I will email you a Contract as well as an invoice for your session fee.
