Rustic Idaho Winter Wedding
Idaho is a "destination wedding", right?! Well, if having to spend a whole day traveling to get there, two different airplanes while flying across the country to get there qualifies then Idaho definitely counts! This wedding is extra special for me though, it is my own Nephews! The travel was well worth it to be apart of his special day!
Being family and me being there a day early, we took advantage of having an extra day and actually photographed the First Look and the Bride and Groom Portraits the day before the Ceremony and Reception. It turned out to be a good thing because we thought it couldn't get any colder than the 17 degrees but then on the wedding day the shocking number 4 greeted us on the thermometer. We had plenty of time to document the steps of getting dressed, the details, and plenty of time to get some amazing photos by the river.
Zach and Kinzie got ready in two different rooms of her parents home. On the wedding day when Zach needed a little help getting his suit jacket on, it was a special moment when Kinzie stepped in to help.
And look at those amazing flowers! They are artificial but you wouldn't know it by looking at them, the florist did such an amazing job. Did I mention girl wore cowboy boots?!
Kinzie is in cosmetology school right now so she has the skills to do her own hair and makeup at home. I photographed all the details in the living room while she got ready and then we met at the Snake River!
In front of the large windows in the living room of her parents home where Kinzie grew up, I got to document all the final moments of becoming a Bride. Kinzie's sweet sister Tiffany assisted her with hair and makeup, helped Kinzie get into her dress, and fluff her veil. What a beautiful memory for the two.
The beautiful frozen Snake River was chosen as our First Look and portrait location. Zach loves the river so it was a natural choice for such a momentous occasion. There was lots of smiles, giggles, and fun anxiousness as Kinzie walked up behind Zach, tapped him on the shoulder and as he turned he told her how pretty she looked and complimented her dress. So much joy!!
The giggles and giddiness carried all through the portraits. These two were so much fun to photograph! It was 17 degree's outside but they were such troopers and they smiled the whole time until it was time to kiss and oh boy, did Zach give Kinzie a great big kiss! The backdrop was gorgeous with the snow, frozen river and the fields to play in.
On Friday morning December 28th, 2018 family met at the LDS church in Shelley, ID for the Ceremony that was followed by a luncheon and later that evening a Reception to celebrate. As Zach waited under the arch that he built, he was all smiles. Eye's locked on Kinzie as she quickly came up the aisle holding the arm of her Dad, so much excitement between the two could be felt. The ceremony was short and very sweet with the giddy giggles carrying on into the ceremony. As Kinzie and Zach took hands, they locked eyes and never looked away from each other. There was no one else in the room.
The Bridesmaids wore beautiful blush pinks with the Groomsmen sporting hunter green ties and oh so many boots that tied perfectly in with the rustic theme. The Wedding Party was made up of family and close friends. What a fun bunch!!
Look at all these amazing rustic reception details! From the barn doors to the hot chocolate bar with cookies to warm guests and the sweet table of photos representing loved ones that have pasted away. The whole room had many amazing fun details in every nook and corner. Warm twinkle lights accented the room as guests gave well-wishes to Zach and Kinzie while glowing lanterns decorated the tables that were set atop wood slabs that the Groom made himself. The arch was also made by the groom and was accented with Z & K. The whole room was intimate, warm and inviting.
The whole day ended with Zach and Kinzie surrounded by family and an epic confetti exit! They didn't even notice it was 4 degrees out. Those smiles are the perfect capstone to the whole day!
