Portrait Session Frequently Asked Questions

We assist each of our clients in creating beautiful, printed products for them to enjoy in their homes. While we don't offer unfinished products like files on their own, we do include a complimentary file, completely retouched and printable to 8"x10", matching every portrait purchased. We do not offer digital collections or packages by themselves.

Our clients love that we include the companion digital files with their art products. They want quality print products while having the option to make smaller prints on their own and to be able to post on social media.

Jenée is classically trained through the Center for Digital Imaging arts at Boston University. She graduated with the class of 2013. She is also trained in Newborn Photography Safety and has over a decade of experience as a professional photographer.

Yes! We have a 1000 sq. ft. studio on the second floor of 1182 S. Main St. Attleboro, MA. We do not have an elevator so if you need help up the stairs, we'll be happy to help! The studio is open by appointment only. 

Consultations, portrait sessions with backdrops, print product pick-up and gallery reveal & ordering sessions are held at the studio.  All newborn sessions and cake-smash sessions are done in the studio. For all other sessions, we offer in studio or outdoor locations within a 30 minute radius of Attleboro, MA.

Yes, excluding newborn sessions and most cake smash sessions. We have a couple favorite parks local to Attleboro that we love to work at. We are open to locations within a 30 minute drive.

All state parks and several other locations require a permit. We are able to shoot there but the cost of the permit would be added to your session fee. We would also need at least two weeks to process the permit.

We do not photograph on train tracks.

Private property locations only if given permission.

During our phone conversation we will briefly go over session details, session fee and beginning investment for artwork. If you would like to move forward we will then book an in-studio consultation. At the consultation session you will view and learn about the print products we offer, plan your session details and officially book your portrait session date and time!

For us to turn down other clients and to reserve your date, we require a non-refundable session fee. This insures you are serious about a session and that we feel comfortable in turning down other clients for your date.

Your session fee cover's our phone conversation, your in-studio consultation and planning session, photographing of your session and the gallery reveal and ordering session. The session fee also covers the costs to operate a legal business including insurance, licenses and fees. Other boring items like website, software to edit images, equipment maintenance, rent, studio utilities, etc. are factored into session fees.

All artwork and printed products are sold separately from the session fee.

Our goal is to create printed artwork that you will hang on your walls or display in a beautiful heirloom album. Our job is only half-done if we don't assist you with guidance in choosing art products and a way to actually enjoy viewing your portraits!

We are here to help you in choosing which artwork you would love to see in your home. Each session is completely unique to how much each customer invests. Our customers love that they get to choose artwork for their walls as well as other ways to enjoy smaller portraits such as in an album or Collection box. We will go over artwork pricing during our in-studio consultation so you will know how much to expect to invest before your session.

Start to visualize now which print products are right for you. Do you have a wall that you walk by everyday that you can't wait to get some artwork on to bring you joy every time you walk by? Do you like all of your portraits organized together in an album to sit down and flip through to relive the whole experience? Do you have Grandparents and family that you would like to send prints to?

Session fee's begin at 250 for most Portraits / 350 for Newborn and Cake Smashes

Our clients typically choose an Album and/or a Collection and then artwork for their walls from our à la carte print product options.   

Collections begin at 990 and Albums start at 1990. A la cart print products begin at 190 and investment is determined by print size, material and if we are adding professional framing. 

Approximately two week after your session, we will meet in the studio to view your soft-proofed online gallery. This means the images are not fully edited at this point. You will choose which images you would love to create your artwork with and then those will be fully edited.

Companion digital image(s) of your chosen artwork printable up to 8"x10" will be delivered through an online gallery for download and sharing. 

After your session we will fully edit your chosen portraits. We will create a mock-up of your album for approval as well as get approval for all edits before submitting artwork orders.

We will stay in contact as to when your artwork arrives to the studio for pick-up. Some artwork, such as albums can take up to 8 weeks to arrive from Italy. Framed artwork takes about 5 weeks. 

Your gallery will remain live for one year after your session date and all portraits not chosen at the reveal and ordering session will be purged after 30 days.

For the best possible light for on-location sessions we will meet about two hours before sunset. We will avoid mid-day light due to harsh shadows.

For Newborn Sessions we will schedule in the morning about 9:30 am on a weekday.

For Cake-smash Sessions we will schedule your session around the best time of day your little one seems happiest. We only schedule one session a day in the studio so this helps booking this way. A couple of days before your session, we will check in to see what your child's current nap schedule is and then we will book your session time around that.

Please note, we are closed Sundays due to family commitments.

First, let me answer that by saying what NOT to wear.  Avoid: loud patterns and colors as well as anything with large logo's on them.

• Do look for solid colored tops. For family portraits do not all wear the same thing, mix it up within a complimentary color palette. Soft colors look great on women and girls. Nice slacks or clean jeans look great on men and boys paired with a collared shirt.  

• Most sessions will involve movement: walking, looking over your shoulder, posing (for Senior sessions you may even do some skipping, twirling or jumping!). Do the bend-over and reach-up test in front of a mirror:  does anything fall out when you bend over? Anything hang out the bottom when reaching up?  Are bra straps visible? Choose undergarments that flatter the material of the outfit and not cause lines or bulges.

• You will more than likely be able to see shoes, so take that into consideration.

• Nails and hands will also be visible so clean hands/fingernails. For women, nicely polished nails with a light soft color will photograph nicely.

• You will be able to see phones and key's in pockets so I will ask you to empty those.

• Please iron clothing before your session.

 When we meet for our in-studio consultation, we will plan together the look and feel of your session including clothing.

For Newborn Sessions we work on “baby time” but on average expect in the 3-4 hour range. That doesn't mean we will be posing and photographing the whole time. The majority of our time is spent soothing baby and waiting for them to be nice and comfy, pausing for feedings and diaper changes. If we are including family and sibling portraits, do plan on closer to the 4 hour range. Family and sibling photos are done first so siblings don't have to stay the entire session. 

For all other sessions (Cake-smash, Maternity, High-School Senior, Family, Headshots, etc) expect sessions to be about an hour and a half.

A RAW file is essentially the cameras digital negative. It is uncompressed image data but in a form that is not directly usable and must be processed. 

RAW files are not a finished product and do not adequately portray our work. For this reason, we do not distribute RAW files. Digital images that you will receive as companions to your artwork are in JPEG format printable up to 8"x10."
